In the grand scheme of things...I am old

A child not yet three years of age has a world before him.  Cancer is a dirty word and it can and does strike the most unlikely of victims.  A friend of Des' has just been informed that her son has leukemia.  My heart goes out to the parents, they must be strong through the coming weeks.

I have lived more than my share of a lifetime.  It has been both a blessing and a curse.  Each time I experienced a high moment in life, I can reflect back on a time of despair.  My parents laid the groundwork when I was young but it was in my teen years that I chose the path that brings me to where I am today.  There were numerous bumps and obstructions along that path but I have endured them.

Every child should be able to choose the path they wish to follow.  Life is difficut enough without having to fight cancer before you can wite your ABC's.  I have met many kind and compassionate people through this website.  Prayers and donations have come in.  I ask that you share those prayers for a little man named Grant.  www.PrayersforGrant.com
